I have been taking Taiji classes for over a year. There are a couple of things that are important to me:
1. The teacher sets a pleasant atmosphere. I felt comfortable as a new student in a class that includes more advanced students. In fact, the advanced students are very helpful.
2. I was surprised at the workout one gets in a Taiji class. You work at the level you are comfortable with. Just as important is the engagement of the mind as one focuses on isolating movements.
I highly recommend this class.
