Qi Gong is an ancient healing art that works a variety of systems throughout the body, including the entire qi meridian system. Each two day course is designed to take participants through beginning and intermediate levels of two different qi gong sets. Eight Section Brocade is a relatively simple qi gong exercise set consisting of only 8 exercises. The main goal of Eight Section Brocade is to open the main qi meridians and their associated organs. Each exercise will be repeated until students are capable of performing the whole set by themselves. On day two students will be given a higher level look at the internal movement required to get the most out of this set. Hunyuan Qi Gong is the second set that will be taught and consists of 12 movements, stationery standing with breath control and a set of self massage techniques. Hunyuan qi gong is a more complex set that gives students the possibility of progressing further with their health, strength and suppleness for years to come. Hunyuan Qi Gong began with the first emperor of China and was passed down through his family for many generations. The last member of that family taught it to Hu Yao Zhen, a famous martial artist and qi gong master from Beijing. He taught the set to Grandmaster Feng Zhiqiang who in turn taught it to my teacher, Master Chen Zhonghua. This set is reputed to extend a persons life and build robust health and strength. |
