Qi Gong

Qi Gong is an ancient healing art that works a variety of systems throughout the body, including the entire qi meridian system.

This session will focus on 2 highly respected Qi Gong methods.

Re Shen Gong is a very beautiful and dynamic qi gong exercise set consisting of only 6 exercises and a group of health massage techniques. This set brings the practitioner into their Qi Gong body from two main perspectives; opening the major joints of the body while opening the associated meridians and organs, breath control that brings a strong awareness to the Taoist ideal of "Fire under Water" or breathing from the Dan Tien. Each exercise will be repeated until students are capable of performing the whole set by themselves.

Hunyuan Qi Gong is the second set that will be taught and consists of 12 movements, stationery standing with breath control and a set of self massage techniques. Hunyuan qi gong is a more complex set that gives students the possibility of progressing further with their health, strength and suppleness for years to come.

Hunyuan Qi Gong began with the first emperor of China and was passed down through his family for many generations. The last member of that family taught it to Hu Yao Zhen, a famous martial artist and qi gong master from Beijing. He taught the set to Grandmaster Feng Zhiqiang who in turn taught it to my teacher. This set is reputed to extend a persons life and build robust health and strength.
