  1. Shift your weight to the rear leg and turn in the front toes slightly by turning your waist to the right. As you sink back your arms begin to open and expand outward from the back. The palms turn to face each other and the elbows sink.
  2. Shift your weight back to the front leg and raise the heel of your right foot. Step the right leg forward half a pace to the north. The right foot steps to the heel and the weight remains on the left leg. Both arms ‘close’ or compress together with the sinking of the weight. The left palm faces the right elbow at waist height. The right arm is almost fully extended at shoulder height. Both palms face in, both elbows should be sunk.

Advanced Instructions

In this posture you catch the right arm of your opponent with both of yours. Your right arm goes to his elbow and your left palm goes to his wrist. The step is a hidden kick. Timed correctly this kick can disrupt your opponents step and cause damage to his knee.
